Suggestions for Next Year

Haven't seen anyone make one of these yet, so I figured, "Hey, the sooner we figure out good suggestions for next year, the better. It's always good to get an early start. :)" And by suggestions, I mean ones mainly for improvement and things that could be improved on, but also for events.

It seemed that the problem this first year was that since people didn't trust the convention yet, they made accusations and assumptions rather than suggestions and constructive criticism, but hey, now that people see it's a legitimate convention, that's all behind us and done with. (Meaning we can leave all the drama behind. :3)

So I guess I'll start with one: The only one I can really think of at the moment is finding a few more people to manage the site so that the updates are a bit quicker, because I'm sure it's a pain in the butt for one person to be solely in charge of updating the site constantly, and maybe making the layout a bit more user-friendly. (Meaning making a forum tab at the top so that you don't have to travel directly through the front page or 'recent posts' section to get to the discussions, and whatnot).

Yeah , the artist tables. Now imagine the artist tables at the Ren.

What if we were to have the con at let's say The Hilton hotel? Not on the strip but something away from the strip.
If i'm correct there are also a few food places around it too. I'll have to check when my girlfriend goes into pick up her paycheck Teusday. (Not really my girlfriend , just claims that stick and we're using the term.....)

But then you run into that whole problem of having gaming machines and tables there, and thus enter in the creepy older people that you run into. Besides that, in all likelihood the Hilton is going to be more expensive because they're a higher traffic hotel with a lot of publicity still. The food places closer to the Hilton are sit-down restaurants (Toni Roma's, Marie Calenders, both of which have TERRIBLE service and/or I've personally gotten food poisoning from them) or McDonalds. If I recall correctly, the whole reason that AV went to the Ren. hotel was BECAUSE they were actually cheaper than cashman to rent. They only went back to cashman this year because the venue was too small for them.

I sugest contacting Mei with the ichigocafe asap! And talking things with her out. The Ichigo Cafe is a huge part of the Las Vegas anime comunity. We entertain and make everyone feel welcomed. But we were given such short notice that only 2 maids could come and the maid that was contacted wasn't a head maid and told no one till liek a week before. I was told a couple days before the con so there was no time to do anything and we only had like an hour to a room. So there was no time to set up for a cafe just a little panel. In the cafe we can have little panels go on too like about akiba and idols we even do games. Do keep in mind it was their first year and they were taking suggestions so they could put what people wanted in there, and there were a lot of people bad-mouthing the convention before, so you can't really blame them for the short notice and the changed plans. But that shouldn't be a problem this time around, now that people realize that it is a legit mini-con.

I've been keeping an eye open, but haven't heard anything yet. I'll let you guys know if I notice anything come up.
